The ideal candidate has an insatiable appetite for engaging a diverse community in meaningful arts experiences. This individual is a leader and connector, passionate about connecting talented artists, producers and curators to diverse audiences. The candidate is a knowledgeable and experienced curator (performance, visual, events) and producer with the ability to identify and foster opportunities for partnerships and collaborations. The ideal candidate is a strong and effective manager comfortable with the courage to make tough calls and compassion to understand others and manage diverse relationships.
The Producing Director is a leadership position responsible for cultivating a vibrant arts program through visioning, producing and management. The Producing Director is a facilitator charged with guiding a curatorial and producing team to craft a multidisciplinary program in collaboration with the curatorial advisors in performance, visual, media arts, and engagement programming. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Producing Director will manage the vision, cultivate programs, support interesting curators and producers and refine and launch programs aligned with KST’s values.
The position develops programming concepts, manages all program budgets, staffing and space coordination needs and is the primary person responsible for communication across the organization in regard to programming and artistic planning as it relates to marketing, public relations, fundraising and finance.
The Producing Director reports to the Executive Director and manages a team including: Associate Producers of KSTPresents, EL Public and Community Arts, and independent curators on special projects.
